![]() This is Zant, lurking over the PS3 scene for some time at the usual places by the same handle. Zant won the June tutorial contest for the PS3 (a $10 Amazon gift code) with this entry. Note from Wololo: This tutorial on How to Restore Original PS3 Gameboot was initially published by /Talk member zant, as part of our monthly tutorial contest. ![]() I think there's a few hundred kiloybytes of space available for nor systems, so definitely not enough to accommodate the original a3t files. I have had flash files truncated due to that limit which in turn bricked my system. it's probably not worth trying to get it to work due to the limitations of the flash though. I created the smallest sound file I could (the playstation 1 logo sound byte), but it didn't work. ![]() considering the rco for the custom render plugin was only 4 kilobytes while each sound file, as there were 2 for both the gameboot as well as the coldboot2 (just like the main coldboot), were between 700-800 kilobytes apiece, they may have just axed the sound files while keeping the rco (it may have been easier keeping the small file instead of removing it from code). there were also coldboot2 sound files in the same location. I know that nor systems were originally launched with 2.76 fw which might've been slightly modified without the gameboot sound while 2.80 no longer contained the a3t files. ![]() the reason I thought that perhaps the gameboot sound was removed was due to the size limitations of the nor flash.
